White

I loved the ethereal feel of this shoot. There’s something so innocent and pure about wearing white. I’m so used to wearing black, but getting out of my comfort zone is probably a good thing.

Off to Alaska tomorrow! Super stoked.

Traveling Again

I really enjoy shooting Asian-themed concepts. The kabuki mask is from when I went shopping around Asakusa last year. I miss Japan so much. I will be missing the hanami season, but hope to visit next year. However, I am excited for this Saturday because I am going to Fairbanks, Alaska. This trip was barely planned last month, and I've been patiently waiting. I am so glad we are renting a car so that we can travel wherever we want. I am planning on making a day trip to Denali and perhaps the Artic Circle as well. I hope to see wildlife, including moose, wolves, and foxes, or even a bear!

I always make it a personal goal to go somewhere for my birthday. The older I get, I find that I prefer experiences over receiving presents.

Balboa Park

I am really enjoying the year thus far. Not staying in one place too long has been keeping me more bubbly than usual, so I hope I keep this up. I was really looking forward to visiting the Rose Garden, but when Johnny and I got there, there were no roses! I was pretty bummed at first, but after seeing the other sites I got over it shortly. I've forgotten that San Diego is quite beautiful.

I really liked how this photo turned out. I took pictures with a mix of my CanonSX510HS and my iPhone 6S. I thought the Canon took better pictures in the daylight, and my iPhone took better ones at night.

Earth and Snow

Yesterday, I made a quick trip to Mount Laguna with my mom. The weather was interesting because it was raining on and off, but I was relieved to find a decent amount of snow upon arrival. Parking and traffic was awful, so it took a while before we could start venturing out. I haven't seen the snow in a year, and I felt at peace in this environment. I definitely needed the change of scenery. The suburbs can drive me crazy sometimes!

Later that day, and after a much-need outfit change. I watched The Revenant with Johnny. Despite being a huge Leo fan, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The gore and the slow buildup sort of put me to sleep, or maybe I was just tired before watching it.

Tomorrow, I have to attend a study broad meeting for my China trip and then I'll be having fun enjoying free museums in Balboa! My inner wanderlust is dying to come out.

El Nino

The weather was so crazy today. I can't believe it's going to be like this all week. I was terrified driving so far in the weather on account that my car skids easily. Luckily, I made it home safe.

I made a much needed stop to Sephora and made the most out of getting free samples. I am definitely on a budget and can't afford to spend money so easily these days. My favorite sample was Shiseido's White Lucent Serum which retails at $125, so you can guess how excited I was when the sales associate gave me a generous amount. I might use it tonight in conjunction with the Shiseido White Lucent masks I received on Christmas to maximize it's brightening effect.

Later on, I worked out again with Johnny and then we watched Spectre after. In my opinion, Skyfall was much better.

To be honest, I wasn't really feeling my makeup today. I ended up using whatever I had in my drawer since I ran out of everything (hence the Sephora trip). Since I ran out of my holy grail Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, I had to use Ben Nye in Banana, which surprisingly accentuated my dark circles.

DOING WORK

Today it rained, and instead of binge watching something I decided to work out! I was starting to feel guilty about all the food I ate during the holidays.

One of my resolutions for the new year is to stay more active.
