I recently switched mascaras again! This is Maybelline's Colossal Volume Mascara. I used this a lot around winter time, loved it, took a break from it after I tried The Falsies, and grew bored. Now that I've parted ways with the purple tube, I've decided to give Colossal another go.
The formula is runny and wet when you first but it, but after a week of breaking it in, it does wonders! Because of "wet mascaras," I wear a defining mascara underneath to prep my lashes for the volumizing action. I use Superlash by Apple in Avocado.
What I like about Colossal is that the formula is very moldable, if you will. By that, I mean you can customize the product on your lash without the clumps. Colossal Volume's cone-shaped, dense bristled brush gives you the control you want to build at the base, tip, or shaft. I use the very end of the brush to build lashes as much as I'd like! They look huge compared to my bare ones, and I've gotten asked if they're real. I found that with other mascaras such as the purple tubes counterpart, I get spidery lashes, and they start bending all over the place. The Falsies formula needs some work.
The big difference between the two, you ask? While both volumize beautifully, Colossal wins. Lashes appear bolder, and less clumpy.
Sometimes it's nice to revisit previous mascaras, you might love them more than you did before!

I love Maybelline mascaras! Lash Discovery is my oldest favorite because the wand is super skinny and allows you to get in so close to the lashline. I've been using The Falsies {purple tube} this week and I'm impressed. I also love Colossal Cat Eyes! For the price, I think these are all pretty awesome!
